If you're in the mood for a comforting Italian classic, you're in for a treat! Our Homemade Pasta Bolognese recipe is a heartwarming, flavor-packed dish that's perfect for any night of the week. With rich, slow-simmered sauce and perfectly cooked pasta, this meal will quickly become a family favorite.

 Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef (or a mix of pork and beef)

  • 1 onion, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 carrot, finely chopped

  • 1 celery stalk, finely chopped

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes

  • 1/2 cup red wine (optional, adds depth of flavor)

  • 1/2 cup whole milk (for creaminess and balance)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1 lb spaghetti

  • Grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)

 Instructions:

  1. Sauté the aromatics: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, and sauté until they turn translucent.

  2. Brown the meat: Add the ground meat, breaking it up with a spoon, and cook until browned.

  3. Add the veggies: Stir in the chopped carrot and celery, and cook for a few more minutes to soften.

  4. Deglaze with wine: Pour in the red wine and let it simmer until mostly evaporated.

  5. Slow simmer the sauce: Add the crushed tomatoes, season with salt and pepper, and reduce heat. Let it simmer for at least an hour—the longer, the better for a deeper flavor.

  6. Stir in the milk: In the last 10 minutes of cooking, stir in the milk. This adds a creamy texture and helps balance the acidity of the tomatoes.

  7. Cook the pasta: While the sauce is simmering, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.

  8. Serve and enjoy: Plate the spaghetti, ladle the rich Bolognese sauce on top, and sprinkle generously with grated Parmesan cheese.

Classic Pasta Bolognese is a true labor of love, with its deep, slow-cooked flavors and hearty texture. The combination of ground meat, aromatic vegetables, rich tomatoes, and a hint of milk creates a sauce that's both robust and balanced. Serve it over perfectly cooked spaghetti and top it with Parmesan for an unforgettable meal. Whether it's a casual weeknight dinner or a special occasion, this dish will always impress!
