 Ingredients

  • 500G Pork Mince

  • 1 Medium brown onion, finely chopped

  • 1 tablespoon Peanut or Vegetable Oil

  • 1/2 Cup San Choy Bow Sauce

  • 12-16 Baby cos lettuce leaves

  • 1-2 Shredded carrots, to serve

  • Coriander leaves (optional), to serve

For the Sauce:

  • 1/3 cup Hoisin Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons Salt Reduced Soy Sauce

  • 2-3 teaspoons Caster Sugar or Honey (to taste)

  • 1 teaspoon Sesame Oil

 Method

  1. Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, caster sugar (or honey), and sesame oil. Stir well to combine and set aside.

  2. Cook the Pork: Heat peanut or vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and cook until soft and translucent.

  3. Add the Pork: Increase the heat to high and add the pork mince. Cook, stirring frequently, until the pork is browned and cooked through.

  4. Mix in the Sauce: Pour the prepared sauce into the pan with the cooked pork. Stir well and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and coats the meat evenly.

  5. Assemble the San Choy Bow: Wash and dry the baby cos lettuce leaves. Spoon the pork mixture into each lettuce cup.

  6. Garnish and Serve: Top with shredded carrots and fresh coriander leaves if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
