If you're looking for a luxurious yet simple seafood dish, these Prawn Brioche Rolls are the perfect choice. With buttery, toasted brioche buns filled with a creamy, zesty prawn mixture, this recipe brings a taste of the coast to your table. The combination of fresh prawns, crunchy celery, and fragrant chives creates a delightful balance of textures and flavors, making this dish ideal for a light lunch, picnic, or party appetizer.

The beauty of this recipe lies in its simplicity. The brioche rolls provide a soft and slightly sweet contrast to the savory prawn filling, while a hint of lemon zest and juice enhances the freshness. Finished with crisp lettuce and optional toppings like potato chips and hot sauce, these rolls are a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.

 Ingredients:

  • 6 small brioche rolls

  • 40 g butter, softened

  • 1 kg whole cooked prawns, peeled and chopped

  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise

  • 2 celery stalks, diced

  • 1 tbsp chives, chopped

  • 1/2 small lemon, zested and juiced

  • 1 baby gem lettuce, washed

 Method:

  1. Prepare the Brioche Rolls: Slice the rolls in half and lightly butter each half. In a frying pan over medium heat, toast the bun halves until golden brown. Set aside to cool.

  2. Make the Prawn Filling: In a bowl, combine the chopped prawns with mayonnaise, diced celery, chives, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Stir well until evenly mixed.

  3. Assemble the Rolls: Place a piece of lettuce on the bottom half of each toasted brioche bun. Spoon a generous amount of the prawn mixture onto the lettuce, then top with the other half of the roll.

  4. Serve & Enjoy: Serve immediately with potato chips, a dash of Tabasco, and an extra wedge of lemon if desired.

Prawn Brioche Rolls are a fantastic way to elevate a simple seafood dish into something truly special. The soft, buttery brioche buns provide the perfect vessel for the creamy, citrusy prawn filling, while the fresh lettuce adds a light crunch. This recipe is quick to make and can easily be adapted to suit your taste—try adding avocado, dill, or a hint of paprika for an extra twist. Whether enjoyed as a snack, appetizer, or light meal, these rolls will quickly become a favorite in your kitchen.
